Calorie Trackers
I have spent about a year on Noom previously on a paid account and then afterwards just using their free version. As a member in 2021 I recall I had access to real team coaches, recipes and their literature on cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT).
I think at that time I had lost a good 15lbs. That would be the first time in my adult life that I had intentionally lost weight. But unfortunately I didn’t keep it off. I found that the program at that time was useful but maybe I needed to either keep going but I felt my jeans getting looser and I started to relax.
Anyway, fast forward to 2025 and I thought I would try it again. Holy man. I think they handed it over to AI and now it’s a bit of a mess.
So instead I am trying to use MyFitnessPal. I am about a week in and I want to abort this mission. Again I’m just in the free version. But I don’t think the full version would be any better. It is congested with information. All I want right now is a simple logging app that has an accurate calorie count and easy to use.
I just wanted to put that out there. Maybe someone will just design a reallly good calorie tracking app with a superb database of food to log. That’s all I want right now. The rest is too complicated. I will try again with free version of Noom. At least I can see where everything is.
