10 day Challange

Recently I’ve applied for insurance. And to be approved I would need to do a medical screening. This has been a very interesting process. The first part of the application was filling out a form that took approximately 45 min. They got a snapshot detail of my health history from that and from there decided that I needed medical check up. This information will be stored on a database and could be accessed by other insurance companies if needed. So never lie or misrepresent on these forms.

After talking with them I realized if I just never went to the doctor I would never know if I had anything and could say that I had good health as far as I know. BUT that’s not me, and I had been routinely checking my lipid profile because I am a keener.

So anyway, from there it was established they need to do a medical check-up on me.

This is where I decided that I’m going to do the 10 day challenge again. This round I want to do 10 days of oatmeal breakfast and at least one work out each day. Not that I think this will make a major difference, but I like to do it anyway.

Here is a snapshot of what the process looks like.

Preparing for a medical check-up for disability insurance is a crucial step to ensure that your application goes smoothly. Here are key points to consider:

1. Gather Medical Documents

  • Collect all medical records, including recent treatments, diagnoses, and prescriptions.

  • Obtain copies of any previous disability claims and their outcomes.

  • If applicable, bring reports from specialists.

2. Prepare Health History

  • Be ready to discuss your medical history, including:

  • Chronic conditions

  • Surgeries

  • Current medications

  • Any ongoing treatments

3. List Your Symptoms

  • Write down any symptoms you experience, focusing on their severity and frequency.

  • Be specific about how these symptoms impact your daily activities and work.

4. Know Your Rights

  • Understand your rights regarding privacy and the information required for the disability insurance assessment.

  • Familiarize yourself with the insurance company's policies and procedures.

5. Be Honest and Thorough

  • During the check-up, provide complete and honest answers to all questions. Inconsistencies may lead to complications in your claim.

  • Discuss how your condition affects your ability to perform work-related tasks.

6. Arrive Prepared

  • Make sure to arrive on time and bring the necessary identification and documents.

  • Consider bringing someone to help you remember the discussion or to provide support.

7. Follow Up

  • After the examination, keep in contact with your healthcare provider and the insurance company to ensure all necessary documentation is submitted.

By following these steps, you can help streamline the process of your disability insurance check-up, increasing the likelihood of a favorable outcome.
