The Double Workout

I’ve been doing the double work out lately. Mostly because I don’t have it in me to do a full work out right out of the gate in the mornings. I will do some weights or strength training and a 25min stationary bike ride most mornings. It’s about a 200 calorie burn in the mornings. Lately, I have been trying to stack in there a second work out in the evening before bed and before my evening shower. I do this for 2 reasons, more calorie burning, and less sitting on the couch. In the dead of winter in the prairies it is very easy to become a couch potato. Almost too easy. I get home from work, eat supper, and watch tv. Before you know it, it’s dark and you have to go to bed. I am desperately trying to break that habit. Hence the second work out. The second work out I try to categorize in the “fun zone” Some kind of activity that lets you do something fun. For example, yesterday I went shopping. Trying on clothing, and walking up and down the aisles. Much better than sitting. Other times I just did a stationary bike ride with a tv show. I watched all of Squid Games in about 2 weeks.

The Double work out has given me the opportunity to do a little bit more for calorie burning than I thought I could do. Opportunities for a quicker weight loss might be in here somewhere. As long as the second exercise of the day is enjoyable I think I will try my best to keep it up. What are some other easy second work outs?

A sport with a friend like badminton or tennis
